My research has been focused on understanding the signalling, genetics and epigenetics of priming, a defence response based on the sensitization of the immune capacity of plants against biotic and abiotic stresses. My work has been done mainly in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana but as a P3 independent research fellow, I aim to translate the knowledge and experience obtained in A. thaliana into economically-relevant crops in Europe, such as tomato. My research interests are: Optimization of the induce resistance response to serve as an alternative to pesticide use Emerging and re-emerging crop diseases Genetic variation in the induced resistance response in crops
