Dr Samantha Weston is Associate Professor of Pharmacy, and has worked at the University of Reading since 2006.
In 2014 she was seconded to the University of Reading Malaysia to begin the development of Reading School of Pharmacy Malaysia, and the creation of the BPharm programme for delivery over four years from January 2016. Additionally, she is working on the MPharm "2+2" programme, of which Parts 1 and 2 will be delivered at UoRM before students move to UoR to undertake Parts 3 and 4 of their degree.
Her research interests include pharmacy education, international healthcare education and antimicrobial stewardship.
A UK-registered, she began working as a Teacher Practitioner in the Pharmacy Practice department in January 2006, with a diverse role including developing course content, lecturing and leading practice workshops and providing the "pharmacist viewpoint" in pharmaceutics and therapeutics practical sessions. She is hoping to register in Malaysia as a pharmacist in 2014.
Prior to arriving at UoR she worked in many areas of the pharmacy industry - she started her own pharmacy locum agency, worked as a locum pharmacist in community, hospital, prison service and primary care work, both in the UK and abroad.
She completed her PhD in 2011 and her MBA in 2001, and in the past studied for the Certificate and Diploma in Pharmacy Practice.
