My research is focused on understanding the molecular response of bone to mechanical stimulation (exercise) and the role of osteocyte apoptosis in the control of bone remodelling. I am also involved in research in the use of cell therapies for use in regenerative medicine and have experience in the production of clinical grade autologous and allogeneic sourced stem cells and in vivo models of bone and cartilage repair. I am currently undertaking research into the use of assistive technologies for weight management and the design of smart exercise regimens for frail elderly - falls prevention and cognitve decline in dementia syndrome.
