个人简介

Professor Kelly graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1976 with a degree in Chemistry and completed an MSc and PhD under the supervision of Professor GW Gray, FRS, CBE and Professor EP Raynes, FRS in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hull. Having been Head of the Department of Physical Sciences from 2007 to the end of 2010 he took up the role of Acting Dean in January 2011 and has been Dean of Faculty since May 2011. He is a founder, with Professor Mary O’Neill, and Technical Director of Polar OLED, a spin-out company from the University of Hull, which is developing OLED technology in partnership with the IP Group. Professor Kelly is one of only three chemists to report the synthesis of over 3,000 liquid crystals described in over 160 peer-reviewed publications, 45 conference papers and book chapters, and RSC Monograph as well as over 75 patents. An active member of the Nanotechnology and Materials research theme his research interests include: organic electroluminescence, organic photovoltaics, heterogeneous catalysis, mesoporous non-oxide ceramics and semiconductor nanocrystals.
