个人简介

Tommy graduated at the top of his class with a B.Sc., First Class Honours, in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Shumen, Bulgaria and received a Gold Medal from the Ministry of Higher Education of Bulgaria for his achievements in 1985. After some years as a teacher at the College of Mathematics, Varna he undertook his Ph.D. at the University of Sofia, Bulgaria on the dynamic interfacial tension of surfactant solutions (1988–1991). He worked as a Research Fellow on several industrial research projects at the Laboratory of Thermodynamics and Physicochemical Hydrodynamics, Sofia University (1991-1996). During that time, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Antwerp, Belgium through the EU funded TEMPUS programme for 1 year. After 4 years in R&D at Chimatech Corp., Sofia, he came to the University of Hull in 2000 and has been working on colloidal particles at fluid interfaces, particle-stabilised emulsions and foams since then. In 2006, he was awarded an Advanced Research Fellowship from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), UK and became a Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Hull in 2011. Tommy is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), American Chemical Society (ACS), European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS), International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists (IACIS), and EPSRC Peer Review College.
