个人简介
Ms. Cathy Zhang joined ELC as a lecturer in the spring of 2022. Before entering UIC, she taught courses including intensive reading, extensive reading and interpretation at the Faculty of International Studies of Henan Normal University for over fourteen years. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Henan Normal University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She was exempt from taking the Postgraduate Entrance Exam because of her excellent performance in undergraduate study. She went to South Korea as an international postgraduate student and studied at Yeungnam University from 2006 to 2007. The University of Texas at Brownsville offered a visiting fellowship to Ms. Zhang from 2013 to 2014. Her research interests lie in corpus linguistics and foreign language teaching. Over the past few years, Ms. Zhang has independently completed several research projects at provincial level and also participated in research projects supported by National Social Science Foundation and Ministry of Education. She has published 15 academic papers of different levels, among which are CSSCI papers, EI papers and papers on Chinese Core Periodicals. She is also the author of Research on College English Teaching Methods and Strategies in the Internet Era. She is still working on research to improve students’ English proficiency.
