Benjamin Barber博士是英语语言文学专业助理教授,于渥太华大学获得博士学位,其博士论文探讨了莎士比亚作品中欲望的表征在拜伦的散文、诗歌以及戏剧作品中的运用,特别是这些表征如何回应法国大革命所带来的社会政治变动。透过拜伦运用莎士比亚欲望表达的方式,该论文同时也勾勒出从宗教君主制度变为社会市场制度的欧洲转型期莎士比亚和拜伦两位诗人之间的关系。Benjamin Barber博士的研究领域还包括:雪莱研究、斯宾诺莎研究、模仿论、生成人类学、情感理论以及厄尼斯特.盖尔勒著作研究。

His current research interests include the Shelley studies, Spinoza studies, mimetic theory, generative anthropology, affect theory and the work of Ernest Gellner.
