个人简介

Dr Malila Prado received her PhD in 2019 from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her PhD dissertation focused on the teaching of aviation English (ESP) through pragmatics in a corpus-driven study. She joined UIC in February 2022 as an Assistant Professor in the English Language and Literature Studies (ELLS) Programme. Before joining UIC, she worked as a lecturer in the Translation Studies Department at FJUT, in China. She has been working with TESOL for 25 years now. She participates in research groups of pragmatics, corpus linguistics and aviation English, and is a board member of the International Civil Aviation English Association (ICAEA). Her research interests are English as a Lingua Franca, intercultural communication, pragmatics, corpus linguistics and aviation English.
