个人简介

Dr. Wong Wei Chin is currently an Associate Professor in Chinese Culture and Global Communication, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the BNU-HKBU United International College. She graduated with a Ph.D. in History under the supervision of Robert J. Antony and Paul A. Van Dyke at the University of Macau. Her recent publications include articles on the 1700s-1900s Chinese labor history and colonial records history in Southeast Asia based on primary colonial documents and indigenous records. Her research languages include English, Malay, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Cantonese, Hakka, Hokkien, etc. Since joining UIC, she has designed course syllabi and teaches history as foundational General Education courses from different research scopes and perspectives, including China in Western Perspective, History of Southeast Asia, Traditional East Asia, and Migration in World History, etc. She is the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator of governmental and school-funded projects. Awards and Honors 2019: The Best Paper Award at the 23rd International Conference on International Standards Organization (ISO) Series and Teaching Quality in "One Belt One Road" (OBOR) Countries. 2018: Excellent Exhibitor Award on I.T. and E-Learning Experience, BNU-HKBU United International College 2015: Longlisted Best Dissertation in the Humanities for the ICAS Book Prize Award 2015 by the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS), Leiden, the Netherlands. 2013: Young Researcher Award, La Instituto Internacional De Macau (IIM).
