个人简介

Xiaoran grew up in Henan province in China and received a B.S. from Nanjing University. During his doctoral studies with Prof. Samuel Thomas at Tufts, Xiaoran developed strategies to control the self-assembly of polymers using light. Xiaoran then conducted his postdoc research in polymer mechanochemistry at Caltech, mentored by Prof. Maxwell Robb. After that, Xiaoran joined Profs. Shaoyi Jiang and Geoffrey Coates's groups at Cornell, where Xiaoran focused his efforts on the design, synthesis, and understanding of lipids and polymers for gene delivery. Xiaoran joined the faculty at Syracuse University in 2022. Stimuli-Responsive Materials: We are interested in designing, synthesizing, and applying novel photoswitches and mechanophores. Responsive Nanomedicines: Our group is interested in developing nanomaterials that undergo preprogrammed structure and property changes in response to physical, chemical, and biological stimuli as next-generation drug delivery systems to maximize therapeutic efficacy and safety.
