个人简介

Ved Baruah is an Assistant Professor of History at the College of Liberal Arts, SHU. He works on the history of drugs and pharmaceuticals and its relationship with international policy, public health and society. He received his doctorate at Cardiff University, UK (2016) and was based at the Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare (CSHHH) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow where he is currently a Fellow. His monograph titled Empire’s Forgotten Addicts: A History of Opium in Modern India, 1857-1947 will be published by McGill-Queen’s University Press (MQUP) in 2020.
