个人简介

Dr Kate Graeme-Cook is the Bioscience Subject Group Lead in the Department of Human and Enviromental Sciences. She has been been employed at the University of Hertfordshire since 2001 having previously worked at Birkbeck College, University of London. She is final year tutor for the undergraduate Bioscience Programme and also contributes to teaching on: Pharmacy; Dietetics and Nutrition; and MSc programmes on Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Kate's research interests are in the areas of microbial gene regulation and the relationships between microbes and plants/animals. She has been involved in projects relating to: the role of antibiosis in the biological control of plant pathogens associations between Bacillus spp and egg development in Mandarin ducks the role of supercoiling in gene regulation. Kate's teaching at UH include: Gene regulation in bacteria Mode of action of antibiotics Antibiotics resistance in bacteria General cell and molecular biology at a first year level.
