研究领域

Jaime's main research interests are in the areas of health economic modelling and evidence synthesis. With respect to modelling, she has a particular interest in the use and inclusion of evidence in such models, e.g. the use of elicitation methods to obtain expert opinion to help inform modelling, and also in the identification of evidence to parameterise decision models. Jaime is mainly involved in the application of evidence synthesis and decision modelling to the evaluation of tests. She has recently been involved in two studies related to the diagnosis of diabetes. One of these (funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Department of Health) concerns the cost-effectiveness of strategies to screen individuals with diabetes to identify those with a genetic form, who may benefit from a change to less invasive and less costly treatment. The second study (funded by the NIHR’s Research for Patient Benefit programme) is a systematic review of the evidence to identify clinical criteria to predict absolute insulin deficiency, a measure of type 1 diabetes. Jaime has also continued her interest in issues of publication and reporting bias in a study looking at the use and impact of a particular reporting guideline for non-randomised studies (TREND).
