个人简介

Emily graduated with a BSc Hons in Psychology from Southampton Solent University in 2006, before completing a MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2007. She worked as a trial administrator for the stroke research network at Torbay Hospital before joining the department of Primary Care in late 2007. Emily has worked on various projects, including the HEALTH study (a randomised controlled trial of a physical activity intervention for patients with mild COPD who were being treated with Tiotropium) and conducting an economic evaluation of an exercise intervention to prevent falls in patients with Parkinson's disease (GETuP trial). She has also worked as a case notes reviewer for the South West on the DESCARTE study (decision rule for severe symptoms and complications of acute red throat in everyday practice) and contributed to the development of workstreams concerning the validation of the GP Patient Survey (GPPS). In 2010, Emily worked as trial manager on the ESTEEM trial (effectiveness and cost effectiveness of telephone triage of patients requesting same day consultations in general practice: a cluster RCT comparing nurse-led and GP-led management systems with usual care), a large multi-centre trial funded by NIHR (HTA programme). In 2014, she also worked as interim trial manager on the COBRA trial (cost and outcome of behavioural activation versus CBT for depression), within the Complex Interventions Research Group, with Professor David Richards. Emily is currently the project manager of the recently-funded NIHR (HS&DR) ReGROUP project: Retaining the Experienced GP Workforce in Direct Patient Care. ReGROUP is a comprehensive programme of work comprising six interlinking workstreams to identify implementable policies and strategies to support the current GP workforce in direct patient care and to support the return of GPs from a career break.
