个人简介

I am a Senior Research Fellow working within the Institute for Health Services Research, as part of the South West Peninsula Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC). My background is children’s services research, having worked at the research charity Dartington Social research Unit for over 12 years, with a focus on children’s social, emotional and behavioural development in the context of challenging family contexts such as domestic violence and abuse or reduced parenting capacity. I design and lead studies that answer pressing questions for clinicians and practitioners working at the frontline with children and families, often seeking a solution to the most effective way to prevent or intervene in difficulties with their health and development. I am also an Associate of the Dartington Social Research Unit and The Centre for Children and Young People's Participation at UCLan, as well as a Honorary University Fellow within the Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Qualifications BA (Hons) Cum Laude Distinction MSc (Psychology) Cum Laude Distinction PhD (Social and Policy Sciences)

研究领域

I am interested in how parents and families can be supported to enable and promote children’s (mental) health and development, particularly in the context of challenging contexts like domestic violence and abuse. I have led or managed several trials of intervention and prevention activity aimed at reducing children’s behavioural and emotional difficulty, and promoting their socio-emotional development, and I am interested in the connections between different contexts in children’s life, for example how communities and families interact. My work is focused on partnerships with programme developers, service providers, commissioners, parents and families to design, develop and test innovative ways of supporting children
