Kate Allen is an Associate Research Fellow working on the Supporting Teachers and childRen in Schools (STARS) project at the University of Exeter Medical School. STARS is a large cluster randomized controlled trial examining the impact of the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Course on child and teacher wellbeing. Professor Tamsin Ford is the Principle Investigator for this project. Kate’s role involves helping with data collection, coding and analysis. She is also involved in writing papers for publication, including a paper on a new measure for assessing young children's happiness in school (the How I Feel About My School questionnaire). Prior to her post at the University of Exeter, Kate worked at the University of Nottingham helping develop and evaluate a parenting intervention aiming to promote motor skills in very preterm infants. With experience working and conducting research with young children and families, Kate has a particular interest in research focusing on child and infant health and wellbeing, maternal health and early intervention studies.
