研究领域

The Haynes group is interested in understanding the molecular basis of fungal virulence, utilising a functional genomics approach. Our research focuses on Candida glabrata a pathogen of humans; the wheat pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola and the microsporidial pathogen of honey bees Nosema cerane. In addition we utilise model fungi in particular Saccharomyces cerevisiae to investigate basic processes (e.g. cell separation, stress adaptation and pH sensing) that can inform our virulence analyses. We are also part of the systems biology theme at Exeter and are collaborating with computer scientists, mathematicians and engineers to address problems in fungal pathogenicity.
