个人简介

Dr Guerra established her lab in the Department of Life Sciences in October 2009 as a Wellcome Trust fellow and was appointed as a lecturer/assistant Professor in February 2013. Her research aims to elucidate the physiologic relevance of immunoreceptors expressed by Natural Killer (NK) cells in the development of immunopathologies and cancer. An additional focus in the lab relies on combining state-of-the-art multi-photon imaging with novel mouse models to investigate the behavior of NK cells during chronic inflammation with the view of understanding the role they play in cancer progression. Nadia received her Ph.D. from the University Paris VI, Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris in 2002 where she studied the role of inhibitory NK cell receptors in kidney cancer at the Institut Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, France. She joined the group of Prof. David Raulet at the University of Berkeley, California to complete her postdoctoral training focusing on the role of NK group 2, member D (NKG2D) in vivo. She made a significant contribution to the NK cell field through the generation of NKG2D-deficient mice, instrumental to the understanding of NK cell function in disease models.
