Research in our laboratory focuses on the molecular mechanism of pain pathways. We employ primary cultures of sensory neurons and macrophages, live cell imaging, and molecular biology. 1. Roles of neuropeptide VGF and its receptor in neuropathic pain. 2. Roles of macrophages in hyper-excitation of sensory neurons. 3. The mechanism of hypersensitisation of sensory neurons in chronic pain conditions.
