Our research interests are in mechanisms employed by nematode parasites to modulate host immune responses. We recently discovered a panel of enzymes secreted by these pathogens which metabolise extracellular nucleotides, important triggers of innate immunity. Current projects are aimed at dissecting the role of these enzymes in regulation of purinergic signalling and mucosal inflammation.
