个人简介

Kofi is a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the University of Huddersfield and was appointed to this role in 2014. Kofi completed his PhD at the Medway School of Pharmacy, University of Kent in 2012. His PhD was an Industrial CASE studentship with the University and the polymer company Colorcon. His research work which specifically focused on the development of an in-vitro testing method to investigate drug release from hypromellose matrix tablets under fed and fasted conditions was supervised by Professor Ali Nokhodchi and Dr Ali Rajabi-Siahboomi. Following the successful completion of his PhD, Kofi was employed by the University of Huddersfield in 2012 as a Research Assistant then as a Research Fellow before taking up the post of a lectureship. Kofi also became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2014. Kofi successfully collaborates with other universities and several pharmaceutical industries.

Kofi’s research looks at improving the solubility of poorly soluble drugs using various particle engineering techniques in the view of improving bioavailability and other physicochemical and physicomechanical properties. As food administration affects the bioavailability of oral dosage forms of a drug, Kofi’s research also entails the investigation into different parameters that combine to determine a robust formulation of a drug, an essential aspect of drug delivery. This also encompasses method developments for discriminating hydrophilic matrices under fasting and fed conditions.
