个人简介

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition from the University of Ulster, and then completed a PhD in Nutrition at Newcastle University, where I was based in the School of Dental Sciences. I was subsequently employed as a Researcher on a number of projects, including at the Institute of Food Research, Kings College London, University College London, and the University of Sheffield. During this time I also successfully studied with the Open University for a BSc (Hons) Psychology. My first lecturing post was at Kingston University, where I was Senior Lecturer in Nutrition for 3 years, before becoming Senior Lecturer in Nutrition at the University of Huddersfield in 2011. Whilst at Kingston University I gained the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. I am a Member of the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

研究领域

My research interests lie within the field of behavioural nutrition, where nutrition and psychology meet. As a public health nutritionist, I am interested in why we eat what we do and the most effective strategies for changing what we eat. Particular areas of interest include dietary assessment methodology and misreporting of energy intake from the participant's perspective, effective promotion of healthier food choices, and understanding the discrepancy between male and female food choices.
