I am currently involved in research council/industry-funded projects aimed at evaluating the mode of action of environmental chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and their impact on aquatic organisms. Studies at the genetic, protein and physiological levels are conducted. Building on my interest and expertise in endocrinology, I am developing a more health-related focus and have recently become involved in investigating the underlying mechanisms of drug resistance in hormone-dependent breast cancer, and the endocrine actions of phytoestrogens
