I am interested in qualitative research approaches, especially Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), using 1:1 and dyad interviews and focus group methods. My particular research interests encompass aspects of intervention with older people, older people and falls, older people with dementia, older carers, ageing in place, home visits, acute care and physical rehabilitation, as well as a practice based research interest in the WHO (2001)’s ICF for OTs. My PhD research considered the experience of falling by older people with dementia and their carers.

I am currently a co-investigator in a collaborative project with divisional colleagues, British Polio Fellowship and the Disabled Living Foundation and funded by an award from the UK Occupational Therapy Foundation of College of Occupational Therapists on National Guidelines for Measurement of Assistive Technology. This research involved both qualitative and quantitative research methods
