Her research interests are in judgement and decision-making, clinical reasoning, and the study of intuitive expert thinking. She has held grants from the ESRC, NDA, UKOTRF and HEA to study professional decision-making in various clinical domains. She has developed a range of on-line training resources to support the acquisition of professional decision-making skills in a number of fields, which are freely available on her web page (end of publications tab). She is former Chair of the R&D Chair, Council Member and Fellow of the College of Occupational Therapists. She is the former Chair of the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Occupational Therapy. She is a member of the Forum of Mobility Centres' Expert Research Committee and has been an invited expert on changes to DfT legislation and RAC Foundation funded research. She has been appointed to the Peer Review College of the ESRC and as a mentor for the NIHR Research Fellowship Scheme
