Graduated MA Hons. Psychology, Edinburgh University, 1967, MSc and PhD Mathematical and Experimental Psychology, Stirling University, 1968 and 1972. Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader in Psychology, Aberdeen University, 1970-1999. Professor of Psychology, Brunel University London, 2000-2003, Paisley University, 2003-2004, University of Hertfordshire, 2004-2011. Emeritus Professor, Hertfordshire, 2011-. Research Professor, Brunel, 2012-. I have served in a wide range of roles in the British Psychological Society (eg., as Chair of the Cognitive Section for many years) , on various editorial boards, on the ESRC Research Grants Board (2003-2007) and the ESRC College of Assessors (2008- ).
