I studied pre-clinical medicine at the University of Cambridge and clinical medicine at the University of Oxford, obtaining my primary medical degree in 2005. Following Foundation Training I started Core Medical Training in the Severn Deanery. In 2009 I obtained the DTM&H (Distinction) from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene before working as an Honorary Physician and Clinical Lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology and Mbarara Hospital, Uganda. I trained as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Renal Medicine in the Severn Deanery from 2010. In 2013 I was awarded both Wellcome Trust and NIHR funding, and elected to pursue a Doctoral Research Fellowship with NIHR. I was awarded my PhD in September 2016.
