研究领域

The University of Bradford’s Medicines Optimisation research group’s strategic themes are in safe use of medicines for older people at transitions (across care settings and of life/disease stage). Dementia and cardiology are the group’s clinical research focus in the context of the multiple morbidities inevitably associated with older age. Using health services research methods, studies establish how current health systems and patient pathways can be enhanced to improve safety and quality of care for patients. By studying the experiences of patients and healthcare staff interventions are co-produced. The research is characterized by strong and effective academic collaborations together with close working with patients and other stakeholders in NHS and social care. Recently-awarded research funding is almost £3 million from sources including NIHR (5 year Programme Grant for Applied Research, PGfAR), Alzheimer’s Society, and partnerships with NHS Trusts in the region
