1978.10 - 1982.07，山东工业大学（已并入山东大学）动力机械专业，获工学学士学位。
1983.08 - 1986.07，大连理工大学船舶工程系，获工学硕士学位。
1997.04 - 2001.03，日本京都大学防灾研究所海岸海洋工程研究室，获工学博士学位。
工作经历
1993.12 - 1995.12，中国海洋大学工程学院，副教授。
1995.12 - 至今，中国海洋大学工程学院，教授。
1997.04 - 2001.03，日本京都大学防灾研究所，日本学术振兴会 JSPS Fellow。
1997.12 - 1998.12，美国 University of Rhode Island 海洋工程系，访问教授。
2017.11 - 至今，中国工程院院士，现任中国海洋大学海洋工程装备基础科学研究中心主任、中国海洋大学海洋工程与技术创新研究院院长。
