研究领域

Stavros’ research is currently focused on investigating the roles of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in biological processes that underpin influenza A virus induced lung injury and cancer. His research programs provide a logical and unifying approach that will lead to the identification of cellular pathways influenced by ROS relevant to diseases caused by influenza A virus infections and cancer, the generation of novel and more selective tools to understand such processes, and the validation of these processes in appropriate cell and animal models. His recent research has made novel observations that relate specifically to the important family of enzymes now known to be the master regulators of ROS production in mammalian cells - the NADPH oxidases.
