Computational and Systems Biology (Mathematical biology) Micro-RNAs in epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity (Data enrichment with knowledge bases) Proteomics: Immunofluorescence labelling with confocal microscopy; tandem mass spectrometry (Quantitative proteomics) Quantitative Imaging and Image Processing (Confocal microscopy, quantitative proteomics)

My current research interests are directed towards intracellular signalling processes and their role in regulating cell behaviour to promote tissue function. Professional Specialty: Systems Biology Experience in the application of statistical metrics to analyse protein abundance data, including Pearson correlation and mutual information, and experience in the application of Bayesian network inference methods to analyse protein abundance data.   Professional Specialty: Proteomics Experience in measuring protein abundance using tandem mass spectrometry, western blotting, and immunofluorescence labelling with confocal microscopy. Particular focus on measuring protein abundance within tissue samples. Professional Specialty: Quantitative Imaging and Image Processing Application of confocal microscopy to achieve a quantitative imaging protocol, and image processing to obtain protein abundance data from confocal microscope image data. Professional Specialty: micro-RNAs Much of my work over recent years has focused on investigating the role of micro-RNAs in regulating epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity programs, within breast cancer and melanoma. This involves integration of various databases for the large-scale analysis of mRNA and miR transcript abundance data, and the development of specialised mathematical/computational methods to examine post-transcriptional regulation exerted by micro-RNAs.
