Adaptation to Environmental Stress Genome-Wide Association

My research focuses on understanding how variations in the environment modulates the expression of genetic variation and its impact on genetic diversity. I focus on natural populations sourced from extreme climates both in model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and the model insect Drosophila melanogster to experiementally test their response to environmental stress such as temperature and light for plants and insecticide exposure for insects. I have worked in four countries over three continents and studied three different organisms, trying to broaden the scope of my research. My current research programs involved cutting edge bioinformatics tools for the analysis of next generation genomics data but always grounding these in a real-life experimental setup.
