His research interests are focused upon Bio-Analytical Chemistry in the fields of Metabolomics and Spatial Metabolomics, including the mapping of plant secondary metabolites and defense molecules, eco-metabolomics, host-parasite interactions including investigating life stages of the malaria parasite within the mosquito vector and impacts of parasitism on the Florida Scrub Jay, design and synthesis of new MALDI matrices and ultra-high mass resolution Fourier Transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry
