研究领域

My research is focused primarily on the statistical analysis of social networks. This research involves adapting exponential-family random graph models and revealed preference models for use in the simulation of the course of contact-based diseases, specifically sexually transmitted diseases. An important component of this is developing methods that allow for both the estimation of key network structures for explaining the rate of disease transmission and disparities in prevalence for different groups (e.g. races, age groups, geographical regions) and their incorporation in seed (or initial) networks for simulation. Other statistics research includes using survey methodology and log-linear models in analysing the consistency of ego reports of shared outcomes (e.g. friendship, sexual partnerships, children) in cross-sectional (or egocentric) survey data as well as a variety of other applied statistics problems. Additional research in the area of water supply in the developing world context considers issues related to the economic sustainability of various forms of water supply as well as impact assessment of water supply and sanitation interventions.
