研究领域
Dr Heather Benson leads the Skin Delivery Research Group and has an international reputation for her research in the area of skin biology and drug/peptide delivery. She is invited to and regularly presents research from her group at international conferences; is on the editorial board and acts as a reviewer for many prestigious journals in drug delivery, medicinal chemistry and pharmacology; is a reviewer for national and international grant bodies; and is a member of national committees in peptide research and controlled release delivery. She collaborates with colleagues in industry and university nationally (UWA, UQ, USyd, UniSA) and internationally (Queen's University Belfast, UniBarcelona).
Dr Benson's current research areas are in drug targeting to the skin using physical, chemical and formulation enhancement techniques; delivery of therapeutic peptides to the skin by novel formulations/delivery systems including nanosystems, enhancer ligands, peptide shuttles/chaperons and physical enhancement technologies.
