My current research mainly focuses on embryonic learning and conservation. My Ph.D research has involved nest predation and its influence on the behaviour (e.g. nest concealment, nest defence) of a cooperative bird species, as well as communication among the individuals about danger. My postdoctoral research now focuses on prenatal learning with the aims to identify the neural substrates involved in embryonic learning, as well as how and when embryonic learning impact vocal production and acoustic discrimination after birth. My second postdoctoral project investigates the reasons behind populations decline of little penguin in South Australia, with a focus on predation, reproductive success, and population genetics.
