个人简介

Liangliang obtained his bachelor's degree in Bioengineering at University of Dalian Technology (China) in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (China) in 2011. Prior to joining the Notre Dame faculty, he worked with Professor Norman J. Dovichi at University of Notre Dame as a postdoctoral research fellow from April 2011 to December 2012.

The focus of my research in Professor Norman J. Dovichi group is development of sample preparation methods and efficient separation and high sensitive detection system for mass spectrometry (MS) based qualitative and quantitative proteomics. Recently, we developed several kinds of capillary electrophoresis (CE)-MS systems based on the electro-kinetically pumped sheath flow interface developed in this group previously for high efficient separation and high sensitive detection of proteome digests, intact proteins, large-scale and quantitative proteome analysis with iTRAQ (isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification) technique, and online proteome digestion followed by CE-MS analysis. We also developed a kind of magnetic microspheres based immobilized trypsin for large-scale proteome analysis and trace amounts of proteome digestion. We compared two kinds of Orbitrap mass spectrometers for large-scale shotgun proteomics, and obtained comprehensive understandings about these instruments. More recently, we employed iTRAQ technique and multi-dimensional liquid chromatography (LC)-MS/MS for large-scale quantitative proteomics of Xenopus laevis embryos during early development, and generated expression kinetics of close to 4 000 proteins. Now, we are focusing on single cell proteome analysis.
