She is currently developing a research project that evaluates the effects of an evidence based Complementary Medicine education program on pharmacy graduates knowledge, perception and quality of advice provided in professional practice.
Joanna’s Masters and PhD research investigated the role of intestinal microflora in the symptoms and quality of life of patients with Coeliac disease.
She has an interest in the influence of early childhood factors including birth methods, infant feeding practices and antibiotic use in the development of the intestinal microflora and its relationship with chronic health conditions in later life.
