研究领域

Inorganic & Organometallic Chemistry/Analytical & Bioanalytical Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Organic Chemistry

Our group studies the role of metal ions in biological systems and design metal complexes as biological and medical probes. Using analytical, inorganic and organic synthetic techniques we develop lanthanide complexes as responsive luminescent sensors for nucleotides, and iron oxide nanoparticles as contrast agents for medical MRI. Another project is directed toward elucidating the recognition and uptake of heme by gram-negative bacteria. The heme-transport proteins will be studied both from a structural, a chemical biology and an inorganic perspective.
