Wendelin Stark is Ordinary Professor at ETH Zurich since 2014 for of Functional Materials Engineering, situated at the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering at ETH Zurich. Between 2004 and 2009 he has been Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Catalysis at the same Institute; between 2009-2014 as an associate professor. Prof. Stark was born 1976 in Switzerland. He studied Chemistry at the ETH with a stay at the UC Berkeley in 1999. During his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering he applied flame aerosol and flame spray synthesis to the manufacturing of inorganic oxides with a focus on heterogeneous catalysts. His research focuses on functional materials and their interface to chemistry (catalysis) and biology..
