Anatomy

I am interested in the relationship between structure and function of cells in the vestibular (balance) system. Hair cells located in the vestibular component of the inner ear detect motion, acceleration, and gravity. I use immunofluorescent labeling techniques to show the presence of different proteins in vestibular hair cells and their afferent fibres.
