个人简介
I completed my BSc (Hons I) at the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2000. My honours project was titled: “Phylogenetic relationships of Antlered Flies, Phytalmia (Diptera: Tephritidae): The evolution of antler shape and mating behaviour”.
My PhD, titled ‘The significance of genetic and ecological diversity in a wide-ranging insect pest, Paropsis atomaria Olivier (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)” was undertaken at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and awarded in 2008.
I have worked as a scientific illustrator and research assistant at UQ in the Department of Entomology and Centre for Identification of Diagnostic Insects Pests and Weeds (between 2000-2002); as a demonstrator and associate lecturer at QUT (between 2003-2007); and at the Queensland Museum Inquiry Centre (2006-2009).
I returned to QUT to undertake a research postdoctoral position in 2009, working on the integrative taxonomic resolution of morphologically cryptic pest members of the Oriental Fruit Fly species complex. This projust involved strong collaboration with the UN/FAO – International Atomic Energy Agency and was supported by the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for National Plant Biosecurity.
My current position as Research Fellow at QUT, supported by funding provided by the Plant Biosecurity CRC, involves work on the behaviour and ecology of Queensland Fruit Fly to develop novel trapping devices.
