Associate Professor Travis Klein is an ARC Future Fellow who heads the Cartilage Regeneration Laboratory (CRL) and the Orthopaedics, Trauma & Emergency Care Program at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation. The ultimate goal of the CRL is to help develop long-term regenerative therapies for treating cartilage defects, including osteoarthritis. To help understand chondrogenesis and joint pathologies, and engineer functional tissues, the group is developing: model systems using human cells functionalised biomaterials biofabrication approaches mechanical stimulation technologies
