Marine & Aquaculture Sciences

Dr Mary Bonin is interested in coral reef fish population and community ecology and fish-habitat interactions. Her research is motivated by innate curiosity as well as a keen interest in answering questions that can inform the conservation and managment of coral reef communities. To that end, she is currently collaborating on number of projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea that monitor fish and benthic communities in marine reserves and examine larval connectivity of both expoited and unexploited coral reef fish species in reserve networks. Mary's research also explores how habitat loss and fragmentation influence population and community processes in coral reef fishes.
