我的研究主題為奈米元件之製備與其傳輸性質物理特性之分析,屬於應用物理的範疇。目前主要研究重心在於探討低溫下半導體低維度電子系統的量子傳輸現象。此研究有助於擴展在量子元件研發的範疇,同時也對低維度電子系統的物理現象有更進一步的了解。
所用方法包括應用基本的半導體製程如黃光微影術、蝕刻、金屬蒸鍍,電子束微影術和掃瞄式電子顯微鏡等技術製作奈米元件。材料方面目前主要興趣集中於在砷化鎵 / 砷化鋁鎵異質結構中形成之二維電子氣系統上設計與製作小於一微米之量子點、量子點接觸或Aharonov-Bomh環等量子元件。未來亦計劃製備金屬超導接面與金屬超導元件。量測技術上主要為低溫實驗技術與小訊號量測。
目前研究課題在於探討奈米微結構及探測電路對量子元件中電子相位同調性的調控度及影響。此外我們亦想利用二維電子氣系統在強磁場下形成之量子霍爾效應邊緣態來研究量子干涉現象及研製電子式類光學干涉儀的元件。同時,我們也計劃研發THz波段之光學元件。
量子元件的研製與未來半導體元件的研發息息相關,在低維度與奈米尺度下亦有許多新物理現象有待了解。這是一個充滿多樣性、創意性與挑戰性的一個應用物理研究領域。
