个人简介

Dr. Sunna received his Ph.D in Technical Microbiology from the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany, in 1995. After two years postdoctoral position at the same institution, he was awarded in 1997 a Macquarie University Research Fellowship (MURF) at the Department of Biological Sciences. In 2001, he moved back to Germany and joined the Department of Physical Biochemistry at Potsdam University as Senior Research Associate. In 2005, he returned to Sydney as Senior Research Fellow of the Environmental Biotechnology Cooperative Research Centre (EBCRC) at Macquarie University.

研究领域

Dr. Sunna’s research interest is in protein biochemistry and application of biotechnological relevant proteins. He has performed extensive research in the area of extremophiles and characterization of thermostable modular enzymes. In the last 6 years his work has focused on addressing environmental biotechnology issues with especial attention at developing: New capture and concentration techniques for environmental pathogens. Molecular techniques for rapid detection of pathogens. New techniques for removal of odorous compounds. Solid matrix immobilization of relevant enzymes and organisms. Biofunctionalisation of nanomaterials with inorganic binding peptides. Valorisation of biological waste through cell-free synthetic biology
