个人简介

Dr Fahrer's major research interests are in immunology, cancer immunotherapy and bioinformatics. Aude Fahrer received her B.Sc. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Melbourne, in viral immunology. Her first postdoctoral position was at Stanford University U.S.A.. During this time she published on gamma delta T cells and also in the field of oral tolerance and was able to make use of several emerging technologies, in particular MHC tetramers for staining antigen-specific T cells, and microarray technology, working in the labs at Affymetrix. Her second postdoctoral position was at the John Curtin School at ANU, where she worked on mouse models of immunological defects, identifying the first mutation in a chromosome condensin protein leading to defective T cell development. Her laboratory at the Research School of Biology currently works on two areas: 1) The characterisation of novel proteins involved in immunology and cancer, following our publication of over 2000 predicted novel proteins in the human and mouse genomes. 2) The development of a novel cancer immunotherapy (for which clinical trial approval has recently been granted).
