个人简介

Geoff Salem graduated from the University of Western Australia with a BSc (Hons) and an MSc and received his PhD from the ANU in 1983. He held Postdoctoral Fellowship positions at the University of Western Australia (1983-1985) and ANU (1985-1989) before being appointed to a lectureship in the Department of Chemistry at ANU. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2001 and served as Head of the Department of Chemistry from 2003-2005. He has had a long association (ca20 years) with the chemistry Olympiad program both at the national and international levels. He was Director of the national program from 2000-2006 and served on the Steering Committee of the International Chemistry Olympiad from 2004-2006. He was promoted to Associate Professor of the Research School of Chemistry in 2008. He has been the Associate Director of Education in the RSC since 2009

研究领域

Ligand design & synthesis

My research interests are primarily concerned with the design, synthesis and resolution of multidentate ligands containing stereogenic arsenic and/or phosphorus donor atoms and the role of their transition metal based complexes as potential antitumour agents or as catalysts in asymmetric synthesis.
