个人简介

Russell Barrow graduated and received his PhD from the University of Melbourne. He has since held positions at Victoria University (1990-1992), University of Hawaii (1993-1996), Monash University (1996-1997), University of Southern Queensland (1997-1999), before being appointed Lecturer at ANU. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer at the Research School of Chemistry (2004).

Organic chemistry of natural systems

Our research is focused around the chemistry that is expressed in natural systems. We work in the fields of chemical ecology where we examine the nexus that exists between naturally occurring chemicals and the behaviour they produce in whole organisms, bioprospecting where we isolate and identify biologically active natural products, and organic synthesis as it pertains to developing a greater understanding of the chemistry in the natural systems we explore.
