研究领域

原子、分子和光学物理是研究如何利用激光和其它技术对原子和分子进行精确操控以研究其量子行为的一门科学。它一直是物理学非常活跃和前沿的研究领域,它不仅是对许多科学基本定律进行验证的实验平台,也是许多科学技术发展的催生力量。比如近年来实现的光学纠缠态对EPR理论的验证和量子力学完备性的阐释;以及出现于二十世纪七、八十年代激光冷却技术等。目前原子、分子和光学物理这一领域的研究集中于研究原子、离子冷却和囚禁;低温原子、分子碰撞动力学;简并波色子和费密子;量子操控;物理常数精确测定;原子钟;模拟凝聚态物质中的一些奇异现象等。激光冷却技术是这些研究的中心课题,这项技术促使了波色-爱因斯坦凝聚体在1995年的诞生。近年来Nobel奖已经先后在1997年、2001年和2012年三次奖励在这一领域做出杰出贡献的科学家们。开展原子、分子的激光冷却这一领域的研究,不仅可以拓宽物理系目前的研究方向,也可以利用以冷原子为介质,广泛开展非线性光学、信息光学、量子光学以及原子和分子物理学的研究。我们的研究将围绕下面两个研究主题展开。
